Comparison remarks: Surface is faintly striate. The two NZ species of Griselinia have similar pollen.
Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: small (20-30 μm), or medium (30-50 μm). Shape in equatorial view: elongate (prolate). Shape in polar view: trilobed (apertures in sides). Aperture numbers: 3. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: striate. Exine section: with layer of close, thin rods.
Bee pollen pellet colour: Yellow (Walsh 1978).
