IGNS collection number: NZGS4918.

Botanical classification: Class Magnoliopsida; Order Ericales; Family Ericaceae.

Common name: Mingimingi.

Pollen type: Leucopogon fasciculatus type.

Comparison remarks: Tetrad pollen in which three cells are considerably reduced in size (aborted) and form a "cap" on the remaining viable cell.

Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Pollen united in groups of 4 (tetrads). Size class: small (20-30 μm). Shape in equatorial view: elongate (prolate) and different at each pole. Shape in polar view: round. Aperture numbers: 4-6. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: smooth or indefinite. Exine section: thin to medium (no rods visible).
