Pollen type: Weinmannia.
Comparison remarks: Exine thin, but with distinctly reticulate surface. Pollen of W. silvicola (tawhero) is similar.
Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: very small (<20 μm). Shape in equatorial view: round or irregularly round. Shape in polar view: round. Aperture numbers: 3. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: net or pitted. Exine section: medium with spaced rods.
Bee pollen pellet colour: White (Walsh 1978).
