Comparison remarks: There is slight variation in pollen morphology among the species of Myrsine (Moar 1993).
Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: very small (<20 μm), or small (20-30 μm). Shape in equatorial view: flattened oval (oblate). Shape in polar view: round, or multisided/multilobed or irregular. Aperture numbers: 3, or 4-6. Aperture type: furrows only. Surface pattern: smooth or indefinite. Exine section: thin to medium (no rods visible).
