Common name: Tagasaste, tree lucerne.

Pollen type: Leguminosae type.

Comparison remarks: Distinction of the pollen of various legume genera (except Acacia, Lotus, and Trifolium) needs further study.

Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: small (20-30 μm). Shape in equatorial view: round or irregularly round. Shape in polar view: triangular/rounded triangular. Aperture numbers: 3. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: net or pitted. Exine section: thin to medium (no rods visible).

Bee pollen pellet colour: Yellow.
