IGNS collection number: NZGS4970.
Botanical classification: Class Magnoliopsida; Order Rosales; Family Rosaceae.
Common name: Bidibid.
Pollen type: Acaena.
Comparison remarks: The surface of the exine is rough and covers the apertures. As a result, the furrows are obscure, and the pollen may appear triporate; Pollen of other species of Acaena is similar.
Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: small (20-30 μm), or medium (30-50 μm). Shape in equatorial view: round or irregularly round. Shape in polar view: triangular/rounded triangular. Aperture numbers: 3. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: granular. Exine section: thin to medium (no rods visible).
