Common name: Sheep's sorrel.

Pollen type: Rumex.

Comparison remarks: Sometimes with 4 or more furrows; often furrows are not all perfectly meridional.

Morphology (unacetolysed pollen): Size class: small (20-30 μm). Shape in equatorial view: round or irregularly round, or flattened oval (oblate). Shape in polar view: trilobed (apertures in sides). Aperture numbers: 3, or 4-6. Aperture type: furrows with pores. Surface pattern: net or pitted. Exine section: medium with spaced rods. Other structural features: thickened or projecting edges to apertures and cell contents granular.

Bee pollen pellet colour: Yellow (Sawyer 1981).
